ICF Experiential Workshop
The purpose of the meeting is to disseminate knowledge in The Art of Convening (Meeting Art) in Denmark among coaches, based on a 9-step process - the Convening Wheel (see diagram below)
The process has focused on both visible and invisible dynamics that play out in groups when they are together trying to build consensus and reach a goal. Because of this training, I, as facilitator, can best provide a common direction and understanding for everyone in the group. I now have more clarity about how to identify and support the potential of each group to create more value on an aggregate level and therefore produce better results. - Dorothy Vilandt, Nordic UPSIDE
- Learn how apply the practical knowledge of the Convening Wheel in your life and practice in either in-person or virtual situations.
- Using ancient and modern learning methods we'll use large and small group
experiential processes, including exploration of your current work experiences;
- How to maximize the collective wisdom of the group;
- Creating safe and productive meeting spaces through agreements and venue design;
- Receive session materials.
The heart of the workshop is the Convening Wheel: a series of nine steps, or Aspects, that help you master both the inner and outer dimensions of this work—because in convening, the state of the Convener is equally as important as the physical preparations.
In this workshop you’ll learn the tools & practices you need to develop the skills that will lead to improved outcomes in your organization, community, family and relationships.
Authentic teaching is a gift. The core teaching (the 9 aspects of the convening wheel) of the Art of Convening unfolds between the participants and develops an understanding of what is being taught. The essence of this education confirms that authentic and enthusiastic meetings occur when we create meetings where we can show as who we are and be ready to meet participants where they are curious and attentive, without judgment or prejudice. It is for me the heart of the vibrant community that The Art of Convening inspires. - Steen Clausen, Diapraxis

Working with the 'Meeting Art' philosophy and its tools has given me a deep empathy and understanding of the workings of a good conversation and a good meeting with others, privately or professionally. I have learned how this thinking and these tools are the foundation for an engaged and committed process that takes place in a trusting atmosphere.- Aase Schijøtz-Christensen
Praise for The Art of Convening Book:

Seldom have I encountered such depth of wisdom and clarity of process presented with such a gentle, inviting spirit.
- Margaret J. Wheatley, author of Leadership and the New Science and Walk Out Walk On
Craig and Patricia Neal have spent years helping people turn ‘meetings’ of the sort we complain about into the live and engaging encounters that real living requires. - Parker J. Palmer, author of A Hidden Wholeness
