What the Men Say About MWJ

"Dear Craig and Jeff,
Thank you so much for the MWJ. It occurred at the exact right time for me. Enrolling early was helpful because my life began to target the MWJ for important learning as soon as I enrolled.

YogirajWith that said, I got more from the MWJ than I planned. I now see myself in the wholeness of my physical, psychological, and spiritual environments in ways that only this venture into the wilderness, with men could have brought about.

I strongly recommend this to others, and that they register early because the Wilderness Journey begins when you enroll."

Thanks,
-Yogiraj Achala

Lloyd Raines"Spending a week with a small group of men in the wilds of nature was a rare chance to explore the topography of life. With two expert co-leaders, Craig and Jeff, the journeys were physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual, with the chance to journey alone, in pairs or triads, and as a group. Life was stripped to its bare parts, exposing the juiciness of that simplicity. I don't think I've been so deeply massaged in so many ways before. Men together like this have a magic that few get to experience. I'm grateful for that week of communion."
-Lloyd Raines

Jonathan Flak"It was the silence that first gave me a sense of awe for the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. I'm not overlooking the extraordinary beauty of this pristine wilderness for the landscape has an allure all its own. But it was the silence that initially drew me in. It was the silence that I noticed on that first night as I stood in awe in the darkness beneath a cloudy sky. It was the silence that settled in my soul and connected with that part of me that longs to be separate from a mechanized world, that part of me that seeks the memory of hard work and sweat, that part that looks to nature for insight and guidance. It was the silence, in that moment so complete, that wrapped me in its embrace as I swayed trancelike on the edge of land." -Jonathan Flak

Tom Tyler"I tried to hold for a little while the beauty before me, the sense of floating color and the artistry of flame against the dark, knowing it was part of the smells and sounds and rememberings of the past.

My experience with my wilderness brothers has been woven into the fabric of my being, and I am still holding it. It is not easy to name or tease out from my other internal fibers, but it is there. I see the faces of these men in the reflected glow of the fire, and hear their voices as they pour their intentions into the flame. I hold a bit of each of them, and they hold me, as we explore together the deeper wilderness of the soul."
-Tom Tyler

"This inventure far exceeded my expectations – which were high. Eight men from different walks of life prepared for and experienced a deep level of essential conversation and community. We were stretched in every way, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. An expansion of being, an opening, was created in all of our lives, individually and communally, forming a container into which much blessing was poured. The fellowship was beautiful, the setting pristine, the guidance wise and lingering."

-Terry Chapman

"The MWJ provided me the opportunity to experience a communion with nature, with myself, and with other men in a way that is profound, yet incredibly accessible. There were moments of transformation that, not masked by the clutter of our culture, were visible as they were occurring. That is the beauty of the place, and the gift of the space that the MWJ creates. Thank you."
