ORGANIZATIONAL THOUGHT LEADER GATHERING DESIGN METHOD
Transform your Meetings!
Bring the Thought Leader Gatherings to Your Organization
Your
guiding hand in the design based upon your years of experience and
insightful expertise allowed us to create a safe way for our people to
stretch and make their voices heard in a way they had not experienced.
You asked and identified all the most salient questions and conditions
that could affect the group's ability to focus on what we were asking
them to do: provide feedback on a new vision, elicit their buy-in and
commitment to a new way of being, and step forward in their own
leadership at one of the most challenging times of their careers - when
it is most needed.
Full
engagement and complete renewal characterized the day! We heard words
like courage, hope, commitment at the end of the day. You rarely hear
that after a "regular" meeting and this was anything but regular! It
was extraordinary! Your leadership was instrumental in helping us
achieve such a transformative result. Thank you is not enough!

Heartland is committed to supporting organizations to navigate the uncharted territories of a world transforming at warp speed with a methodology and practices based on principles that create the highest potential for your meetings, conversations and decisions:
- REFLECTION- remembering what matters and what works
- LISTENING- for what is truly needed and wanted
- CONVENING- creating the conditions for transformation
Drawing on the design, format and principles of the Thought Leader Gatherings, the TLG Meeting Design Method offers organizations the ability to stimulate and reveal the collective wisdom inherent within people in an efficient, yet unhurried time frame.
Our method utilizes ancient, as well as modern technologies to achieve greater levels of authenticity, productivity and effectiveness.
Our Approach
- Create a shared vision
- Build skills that will help your leadership to be more efficient / effective in daily practice.
- Leverage and add to your organization’s strategy for exceptional team performance and/or customer service.
- Provide your leadership with an opportunity to openly communicate, learn and practice crucial conversations in a venue that is safe for cross-hierarchy conversations.
- Ensure we are designing and learning with the “whole person” in mind.
I asked Patricia and Craig to bring the Thought Leader Gathering design to the retail bank management team in the Twin Cities.
We held two sessions and exposed 350 of our team members to the process. We continue to use concepts learned at this TLG in our meetings (Stringing the Beads, wisdom circles, conversation starters) to create engagement and build team capacity.

TLG Meeting Design Method
Creating Meetings that Work and Matter
The TLG design of creating effective meetings uses the principles and format as designed by Heartland and honed over 10 years of practice.
The design is simple yet exceedingly elegant in its execution consisting of 5 elements. Each element is seamlessly woven into the next to maximize our individual and collective contributions and ultimately harvesting the wisdom and therefore maximizing the desired outcome of the meeting.

Participant Outcomes
Today’s Thought Leader Gathering at Juut was the best day I’ve ever had professionally. We moved to a place that I’ve been imagining for a very long time. Trust, loyalty, coherence, love, beauty, & finally US. Feels great to be part of something larger than ourselves that is good and right and true.

Get profound ideas and profound tools: In a half or full day format, participants evaluate their own leadership beliefs through shared stories of journey, change and action.
Benefit from fresh perspectives: All Conversation Starters, whether internal or external, exemplify being “thought leaders” who articulate the emerging paradigm of reflective leadership, and as leaders who bring their passion and vision to action in their work.
Skill creation: Together we learn the leadership skills of creating a new language and behavior, in an environment that allows for profound creativity and leadership. A specific outcome is to develop leadership capacity through the art of listening, convening in groups and personal awareness as individual growth.
Commitment to action: There is power in the commitment to move conversation into practical action. At the close of each session, participants make a commitment to synthesize their learning into action.
Further Leadership Development:
- Teambuilding: develop a more aligned and cohesive team.
- Culture: reinforce awareness of the organizational culture within your organization.
- Perspective: help broaden perspective, encouraging development of the ‘being’ side of leaders.
- Mentoring: participants find they’re asking different questions and creating more impactful conversations with their mentees.
- Personal Renewal: participants report feeling ‘refreshed and energized’ and note the benefits of developing or expanding their local network of support.
